Pencil Shavings Flowers For Kids are fun and easy to make!
I was sharpening my daughter’s colored pencils and thought we could make flowers. The kids were thrilled when I told them what we would do with the shavings. They were shocked that we could make something out of “garbage”! ๐
This craft teaches children to use what they have and to be creative. Many times in our lives, as adults, we have to “make do.” Teaching our children how to use what they have is an excellent way to prepare them for real life.
As a homeschooling parent, I find it very exciting coming up with activities for my kids to do and sharing them with you. You only need a few supplies to make this one.
You will need:
- Paper of your choice
- Markers or crayons (optional)
- Colored pencils
- Sharpeners that give you good colored pencil shavings.
- Colored pencil shavings
- An imagination ๐
- Glue stick or hot glue ( Hot glue attaches quicker and more accessible, but I did it with a glue stick, and it worked well)
The trick to this craft is to leave some of the shavings sticking up to give depth to the flower.
Do remember to display your child’s art when you finish your creations. ๐ Kids love to see their artwork on display for all to see. It makes them feel special and encourages them to try their best in school daily.
If you try this craft, let me know how it turns out!
Happy crafting. ๐
